Luci Griffiths

Luci’s love of all things plants began growing up on a farm in Idaho, where her favorite place was always outside. As a teenager, she had the opportunity to visit family in Virginia.. Upon discovering that there was a place this green, immediately she set the goal to live here someday.

Fast forward, Luci now has called Northern Virginia home for over a decade. After moving here, to her suprise, she quickly discovered that many of her Idaho farm-girl gardening tricks simply didn’t translate to Virginia’s very different climate. From that day forward, she began taking classes, experimenting in her own garden, researching plants endlessly, and cracking the code.

What started as a desire to understand her own garden grew into something far more. Combining her love of plants, art, and a desire to share what she has learned, Luci founded Fern & Root.
